Chlorobutyl lining provides good resistance to acids and caustic solutions, as well as superior ozone resistance. It is not affected by cold conditions or rapid temperature changes.Typical applications include phosphoric acid tanks and sodium hypochlorite tanks.
Note: service temperature depends on the specific compound and chemical concentration (chlorobutyl compounds are often used around 200°F / 93°C for many hot acid/caustic services).
Technical Data Sheets - Rubber lining
Chlorobutyl / Bromobutyl
EPDM
EPDM rubber linings are distinguished by their excellent resistance to ozone, UV rays and weathering. They also offer strong chemical resistance to oxygenated solvents and corrosive agents. EPDM is ideal for oxidizing environments, particularly in applications involving sodium chlorate or potassium chlorate. This material guarantees reliable thermal resistance up to 200°F (93°C), ensuring performance and durability in demanding industrial conditions.
Hypalon
Hypalon lining has good resistance to high concentrations of sulfuric acid, ozone and abrasion.
Neoprene
Neoprene lining is a synthetic elastomer with physical properties similar to natural rubber. It is generally superior to natural rubber in resistance to heat, ozone, and certain oily environments.Other synthetic rubbers such as SBR and bromobutyl are also available.
Nitrile
Nitrile lining offers good resistance to fats, oils, aliphatic hydrocarbons and other non-polar solvents. Affected by rapid temperature changes. Good heat resistance depending on compound/conditions.
SBR
SBR lining stands out for excellent abrasion resistance and versatile performance. It offers good resistance to diluted acids, bases, and mechanical wear, while maintaining an excellent cost-to-performance ratio for standard industrial environments. It is a reliable and economical solution to extend equipment service life under moderate operating conditions.maintaining an excellent value-for-money ratio for standard industrial environments. It is a reliable and economical solution for extending the service life of equipment subject to moderate operating conditions.
Semi-Hard Natural Rubber
& Ebonite
Semi-hard natural rubber and ebonite lining offers very good resistance to many chemicals and better heat resistance than soft natural rubber.Typical applications include: tanks, organic and inorganic acids, chlorine gas service, plating, and water treatment, among others.
Soft Natural Rubber
Soft natural rubber (NR) lining offers good resistance to most inorganic chemicals, except strong oxidizing agents. It provides exceptional abrasion resistance and performs very well under thermal expansion and contraction of metal substrates.Typical applications include: mining service, acid tanks, hydrochloric acid (HCl) service, chemical process equipment, and food-contact applications (FDA), depending on the selected compound.
American Biltrite
American Biltrite 9042 is a red natural rubber at 40 durometers offering exceptional properties of chemical resistance, abrasion and tearing resistance. This high-performance material guarantees optimal durability in demanding industrial environments. Its operating temperature range extends from -40°F to 180°F (-40°C to 82°C).
Linatex
Linatex® Premium Rubber is a high-performance natural rubber, recognized for its resilience and excellent resistance to wet abrasion, cutting and tearing; ideal for protecting your equipment (chutes, cyclones, piping, linings) in abrasive environments with slurries and fines, it extends the service life of components and reduces unplanned downtime.
Triple-Layer Rubber Lining
(Soft – Hard – Soft)
Triple-layer rubber lining (soft–hard–soft) offers outstanding resistance to abrasion and chemical environments. The center layer (semi-hard rubber) acts as a non-permeable barrier, while the soft cushion layer provides maximum adhesion on all types of steel. The top layer is formulated to resist the most severe abrasive and chemical attacks.
