Elastomont specializes in the design and manufacturing of custom polyurethane parts engineered for extreme industrial performance. Bridging the gap between rubber and structural plastics, our elastomer solutions offer significantly higher abrasion resistance and load-bearing capacity compared to traditional materials. Whether you need OEM replacement components, reverse engineering for obsolete parts, or custom prototypes, our precise molding processes ensure superior durability. We help industries reduce maintenance downtime by providing components that withstand heavy impacts, chemicals, and wear in the toughest operating environments.

Why Polyurethane? The Engineered Solution for Wear

Polyurethane (PU) is not a simple polymer, but a family of engineered materials. It is the solution of choice when durability and mechanical resistance are non-negotiable. Its exceptional performance makes it a strategic investment to secure your production.

Its key advantages for your operations:

  • Unrivaled abrasion resistance: Extends part lifespan significantly compared to rubber, reducing maintenance downtime.
  • High load-bearing capacity: Withstands extreme pressure and heavy impacts without deformation (compressive strength).
  • Versatile Hardness Range (Shore A to D): Formulations tailored from soft/flexible (like rubber) to hard/rigid (like structural plastic).
  • Chemical & Environmental Resistance: Impervious to oils, solvents, ozone, and oxidation.

FAQ - Polyurethane Parts

PU offers an unmatched abrasion resistance/hardness ratio, positioning it as the ultimate material for severe wear. It is generally more abrasion-resistant than rubber and quieter and less expensive long-term than metal.
Yes. Our reverse engineering service allows us to recreate worn-out parts. We can even optimize the design or adjust the hardness to improve performance over the original OEM part.
Our lead times range from 2 hours to 4 weeks, depending on the scope of work. For maintenance tasks like regrinding, we can often turn parts around in just a few hours. We offer a full spectrum of services, from simple surface resurfacing to complete metal core repair and polyurethane recovering. For critical production stoppages, our emergency rush service is available to minimize your downtime.
Casting molding is ideal for prototypes, large parts and small series, offering great formulation flexibility at reduced tooling cost. Injection molding is better suited for medium to large series, allowing faster production rates and tighter dimensional tolerances. We advise you on the most cost-effective process for your project.
Shore hardness is measured on the A (soft to rigid) and D (rigid to very rigid) scales. An anti-vibration pad will require low hardness (Shore A 50-70), while a heavily loaded roller will require high hardness (Shore A 90 to D 75). Our engineers help you define optimal hardness based on load, impact and required flexibility.
Yes. We use specific polyurethane formulations (particularly Polyester grades) that offer excellent resistance to oils, greases and hydrocarbons, making them perfect for workshop environments, automotive or petroleum product handling.
Our flexibility is one of our strengths. We work with clients on projects ranging from single prototypes to production series. The minimum quantity is established based on mold complexity and formulation, with the goal of finding an economical solution regardless of quantity.
We can apply a wide range of finishes to meet your functional needs: smooth, textured, micro-grained or grooved surfaces to improve grip, drainage or air evacuation. Post-molding machining (cutting, drilling) is also available.
Polyurethane bridges the gap between rubber and plastic. It offers the elasticity of rubber combined with the toughness of metal, providing superior abrasion resistance, noise reduction, and significant weight savings compared to steel parts.
